There is a compound present in garlic which is known as Kyolic. It works as an antiviral and helps in speeding up the healing process. Alternatively, you can also have garlic capsules with 2 capsules in a day.

Preventive measures can also be taken in order to avoid the problem. You should avoid physical contact with a person having cold sores. Do not kiss that person and also do not use the utensils, towel, cups, or razor used by that person. Following these few measures will surely give a positive result.
